Does my child need a visa for Azerbaijan, and how can I obtain one?

When planning a family trip abroad, it is essential to check the visa requirements for each member of the family, including your children.

Entry requirements for children in Azerbaijan

To enter Azerbaijan, foreign nationals must generally be in possession of a valid passport and an appropriate visa. This also applies to children, whether they are registered on their parents' passport or have their own travel document.

It should be noted that visa requirements may vary depending on the nationality of the applicant and the type of trip planned (tourism, study, etc.). In any case, there is no age exemption.

Visa exemptions for certain nationalities

In some cases, children accompanied by adults do not need a visa to travel to Azerbaijan. This exemption generally applies to citizens of neighbouring countries that have bilateral agreements with Azerbaijan. It is therefore advisable to consult the updated information provided by the Azerbaijani consular authorities before planning your trip.

Types of visa available for children

If your child needs a visa to travel to Azerbaijan, it is advisable to opt for the eVisa (ASAN eViza), which allows you to apply at the same time as your legal guardians.

This type of visa is generally issued for a short period (up to 30 days) and allows children to visit Azerbaijan with their parents or legal guardians. Permitted activities include holidays, visiting relatives and taking part in cultural or sporting events.
